DEKLARASI SEKOLAH DIGITAL PERTAMA DI SUMUT

Hal ini memang dapat dikatakan terlambat, akan tetapi agar dapat membuka mata publik bahwa Namira Islamic School adalah sekolah yang pertama kali melakukan digitalisasi, yaitu pada tahun 2003 Namira menyediakan WiFi di lingkungan sekolah yang dapat di akses oleh seluruh komunitas di sekolah ( siswa, guru, wali,dan para pengunjung sekolah ).Dan ini menciptakan guru di Namira lebih maju dalam menyampaikan materi pembelajaran kepada siswa, yaitu dengan cara membuat blog untuk menunjang belajar mengajar sekaligus sebagai media dalam belajar.
Program ini bekerja sama denga city link, dan BBC lembaga kursus bahasa Inggris dan Komputer, ( data ini dapat ditanyakan langsung kepada lembaga tersebut ).
Hal ini bertolak belakang oleh kata sambutan atau pemaparan dari Bapak Edy Sofyan ( Kepala bainkom Sumut ) beliau mengatakan ...yang intinya akan mengadakan atau mendigitalkan sekolah di Sumut. ( di ambil dar pernyataan beliau di http://www.bloggersumut.net/ ketika meresmikan pesantren Darul Arafah sebagai pesantren digital pertama di Sumut.
Setelah 2 tahun program ini di Namira berjalan maka timbullah bak jamur di musim hujan, sekolah - sekolah yang menyatakan sekolah digital dengan menyediakan WiFi di area sekolah mereka, hal ini wajar untuk mencapat kharisma ( daya jual/ marketing ) yang inggi. Intinya Namira Islamic School benar - benar mewujudkan sekolah Digital.........

THE COLONIAL CONTEXT OF THE FOUNDATION

OF MODERN SCHOOLS IN INDONESIA

The beginning of the twentieth century was a significant period in which some important developments took place. One of these was the application of Etische Politiek ( Ethical Policy ), which had influenced many aspects of Indonesian life, in particular education, and the emergence of the new Islamic and nationalist schools.

A. The Colonial Government’s Educational System

The modern Dutch education system influenced not only the emerging modern Islamic educational institutions, but also the nationalist system of Indonesia. This modern education system was introduced by the Dutch colonial authorities. The Islamic modernists adopted the colonial model system.

The colonial educational system was different, in some respects, from the Islamic and nationalist ones in terms of method, curricula, and goals. The colonial system was based on secular subjects and skills, whereas the Islamists and nationalists put grater emphasis on religious and nationalistic values.

The educational system of the colonial authorities can be described as follows ;

  1. The learning plan followed formal graduation.
  2. Secular subjects were taught, not religious ones.
  3. The teaching and learning took place collectively inn classes, not individual.
  4. It was not free of charge. There was a tuition fee.
